8-man Football Coming to Eagle Nation

Hope Christian Academy is pleased to announce the addition of a Football Program beginning in the 2026 season. Hope has officially joined the Illinois 8-Man Football Association (I8FA) and is excited to be a part of this outstanding conference.

We believe athletics play an important role in developing the whole student, mind, body, and spirit. Football, when taught with excellence and guided by Christian principles, provides student-athletes with valuable opportunities to grow in discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership.

A strong football program benefits not only those on the field, but also strengthens our entire athletic department. Football helps develop strength, speed, coordination, mental toughness, and competitive confidence, all of which translate positively to other sports. Multi-sport athletes often experience improved performance through the conditioning, skill development, and character formation gained through participation in football.

Even more importantly, football can contribute to a positive campus culture built on commitment, accountability, servant leadership, and unity. When guided by a Christ-centered philosophy, football becomes a meaningful platform for teaching young men to lead with humility, encourage one another, and honor God through their effort, attitude, and sportsmanship.

We are excited for the opportunity to build a program that reflects our mission of developing students who pursue excellence while growing in faith and character.

Eagle Nation Athletics: Competing with Character

At Hope Christian Academy, our Eagle Nation philosophy of competitive athletics is rooted in a Biblical worldview that calls students to compete with character. We believe sports are about winning, but not only about winning. We believe winning and excellence is about honoring God through effort, attitude, and integrity. As written in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,” we encourage our student-athletes to pursue excellence in every practice, game, and interaction. This means giving their best, supporting their teammates, respecting opponents, and demonstrating humility in both victory and defeat. Our commitment to Christian values shapes how we compete, striving for excellence not for personal recognition, but as an act of worship and a reflection of our faith.
